Random thoughts

I don't feel like keeping this blog on one topic today. Yesterday we had a big rainstorm and now we're having sewer problems... so while it gets fixed, I can't do laundry or dishes or anything that uses a lot of water.

Last night we had a missionary at church. He and his wife are going to be working in Micronesia (a group of islands between Australia and Hawaii). He told a story about an evangelist that heard about how few missionaries are in Micronesia, and this evangelist began to pray that a missionary would go to a specific island. He would tell people about it in every church he went to. One time he was preaching in a church and mentioned this island, and a man came up to him and said "My wife and I felt God was calling us to that island", but then he continued and said "but we found out they have no electricity and no running water so we changed our minds about going." This would be a totally sad story, if it wasn't for the fact that God called someone else to the same mission field, because of that man's refusal to go. It just shows that God's will is going to be done... but we can miss out on it if we don't let ourselves be available to do whatever God wants us to do. Can you imagine the way that man will feel someday when he finds out how much God used the other missionary and what he missed out on? Oh how I don't want to miss out on God's blessings like that!

Just had to let that out. :-) It really touched my heart last night.

Lol our water is bad. I cannot run the washer and anything else at the same time. I can't take a shower and have water running from another tap. We can't flush the toilet when any water is in use unless we want the toilet water all over the bathroom floor. And when it rains, we can't use water in any capacity. It's a city problem and they "don't have the money" to fix it apparently. Wonder what would happen if we suddenly "didn't have the money" to pay the water bill. Lol.

The story about the missionary is very sad.
