So funny

Have you ever created a Facebook group and then forgot you created it? That just happened to me! lol

I think I started the group AV1611 Bible Believers back in February 2007 (that's when the earliest wall post is), and then I just saw the link to the group through another group I'm on, and I was just going to see if it was active... and see who created it (remember, I forgot it was me). So you can imagine how funny it was when I saw my name as the "creator".... hehehe.

In other funny news: Someone thought I was Vince's little sister yesterday (because I supposedly don't look old enough to be his wife). I'm only 4 months younger than him!!!

Moving on...

... as if the last few days didn't exist.

I did what I felt was necessary to deal with the problems I created. Now I'm backing away from the situation. :-)

Praise the Lord!

I don't think it's coincidental that the day after I made a decision to leave OnlineBaptist, I found a forum site that is WAY more edifying and encouraging to me! :-)

It's located at AV1611.com. There is a lot more Bible discussion and less emotional drama (probably because I haven't seen any women on there yet). Very good site!

Leaving OB alone for a while

Just so you know, I'm going to not post on OB this week. I just feel like being there is a temptation for carnal discussions, and I'd rather focus on more important things (housework, Bible study, etc.), especially since I have some major decisions to make this week and I'd rather not let OB be a distraction.

Sincerely,

Recipe for a massive explosion

Ingredients:

  • 1 Civil opening post containing potentially explosive information
  • 2-3 emotionally-charged board members (include at least one moderator)
  • 2 members who disagree with the majority of the board on this issue
Directions:

  1. Wait for a peaceful lag on the board. (A time when no one is debating everything, and the whole place is just calm and undisturbed.)
  2. Drop opening post into the Biblical Issues forum (the most heated forum on the board).
  3. Heat to boiling.
  4. Turn heat down. Simmer, stirring occasionally.

(This is totally meant to be a joke, so please don't be offended by anything in this post. I just felt like making a little humor out of the situation. :-P )

Hatred.

Today, I feel the need to blog about something that's really bothering me right now. It's the hatred that some Christians have toward another brother in Christ.

I just got back from reading a thread on a forum (many of you know which one I'm talking about, so I won't mention names). The opening post was valid for discussion, and states the information without getting too personally involved. Sure, the poster was biased, but who isn't? I do not fault him for that. I was perfectly find with reading that post. That isn't the problem I wanted to discuss.

As I read further along the thread, some people posted some things that weren't just biased, they were completely hateful. It makes me sick to see anyone say anything so vicious. I just can't handle it. I have the sudden urge to read my Bible and clear this filth out of my head. This is worse than when I saw the comments vile atheists were making on a site where they mock Christians. This is Christians hating a fellow brother in Christ (though they want to believe he's unsaved; therefore, they want him to go to Hell... isn't that sick?).

Please, anyone who reads this blog, please post something positive and encouraging today. I need to see some Christians say something positive, for a change. I'm sick and tired of hate-filled Christians. :(

Sincerely,

Please, make it stop!!

I've got baby fever and it needs to go away!!!

Every time I see a little baby now, I start daydreaming of what it would be like to have one of my own. I get jealous when I see a pregnant woman (whether in pics or real life), and I find it irresistible to read blogs written by women who have recently had babies.

The problem is... we aren't going to have any babies yet because of SO many reasons! Of course, the main one is that Vince doesn't have a full-time job yet, so we can't afford to feed a baby if we can barely afford to feed ourselves. It's hard being patient right now. It's really, really hard.

So I figured out the solution. The baby fever needs to stop. Does anyone have any experience with "getting over" baby fever?? How did you get it to go away??? :-P

Voting for Chuck Baldwin..

...and sick of the McCain supporters saying it's a "wasted vote".

Yeah, so a few of you already know that my husband and I have joined the Chuck Baldwin side. We've decided to vote for principle, instead of just settling for the "lesser evil". We know Chuck Baldwin won't win, but we'd rather vote for him than McCain.

As much as I liked Sarah Palin when she first came on the scene, she really is just another politician. She has to help McCain's campaign, so she has to compromise on several issues to do so. We don't need politicians in the White House, we need men that will uphold our Constitution and do what's right.

So, that's my 2 cents. :-)

Sick and tired of third-party bashers

So, here goes my first real rant on this blog.... :-)

I'm seriously tired of people being RUDE to those who are voting third-party. As of right now, I'm not voting third-party as far as I know... because my husband is still on the "voting for McCain to keep Obama out" side, and I agree with him on that. If he ever changes his mind to vote for Chuck Baldwin, I'll agree with him on that, too. I'm following my husband and I'm going to vote for whoever he votes for. That isn't what this blog is about though...

I have several close friends who are voting for Chuck Baldwin, and you know what? I'm glad that they are! We need those third-party voters to keep the freedom of voting third-party alive! I'm really really sick of CHRISTIANS telling third-party voters that they're wrong for voting based on principle, and voting for what their conscience tells them is right. What has America come to, when the Christians care more about the government taking care of them than having a righteous nation?

You know what? I think America deserves to have Obama as president. He represents the unrighteousness of this nation better than anyone else. Also, since he would oppress this nation... maybe God's people will actually learn to PRAY, instead of sitting in front of their TVs whining about what their government is doing wrong.

Wow... I didn't mean to start another rant about America. :-P

Well anyway, that's all I've got to say for now. I could keep going on, but I'd get too much "in the flesh" and that wouldn't be pretty. :-)

Tagged!

I've been tagged by Rachel to list 6 random things about myself.

Rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. List 6 unspectacular quirks you have.
4. Tag 6 bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each taggee's blog to let them know they've been tagged.

1. I don't like the taste of my own cooking, even if everyone else loves it.
2. Ever since I was a kid, I've always avoided stepping on the cracks on sidewalks. Nothing superstitious... it just always feels weird to step on the crack. This sometimes applies to floor tiles, too... if I'm paying attention.
3. Since I know that my husband will always open doors for me, I try to beat him to it... it's like a little game I like playing. Other people think it's weird, but it's fun. :-)
4. When I'm in public, I occasionally check my purse to make sure my cell phone, keys, and wallet are still there if my purse has been sitting anywhere for more than a few minutes where I might not have seen someone steal something. (like in church or a restaurant or wherever)
5. I can't avoid getting on the internet every day to check blogs, facebook, forums, news, etc. It's a habit. (though I'm sure others have this same "quirk" lol)
6. I have a really hard time filling out surveys like this one. I'm not a creative writer, so I'm sorry if this is really lame and boring. :-) hehe
